Weekend project

When we moved our new appliances in we had to take them in through the back of the house therefore removing the railing off our deck. When we did this we realized just how rotten the boards holding the deck up were. We knew it would need to be replaced sooner or later but it looks like it is going to be sooner.
Since we are done vacationing we decided this would be a good weekend to start the project not realizing it would be about 103 this weekend.
So for the next while the deck is off limits as it is not there and walking out the back door will get you a twelve foot fall to the gravel. We decided to leave the stairs in order to help build the new one and redo them at the end. Buster was out with us in the heat and headed up the stairs at one point to get into the house, realizing when he got to the top that there was no where to go he just whined and headed back down. Poor dog we are throwing his routines for a loop.

The drop from the back door

Working hard in the heat

Our hired help (will work for mountain dew)

Amazingly it only took a few hours to take the whole deck apart, I am sure putting the new one up will not be that quick. I will keep posting our progress.

After looking at the end results of your shelf building, perhaps you shouldn't get involved with the building of the deck. :) jk It will be nice when you get it done! Good luck with the process!

hee hee , Valerie's comment was pretty insightful . Good thing I know that Brandon is heading the project and is a perfectionist.
