Thanksfuls, August 2008

Well this weekend is our Leavitt family reunion and even though I haven't been able to go for 8 years now I still get a little bummed out on this weekend thinking of all the fun we are missing. I hope they aren't having too much fun without us. I keep hoping maybe one day we will be able to go again but probably not, since our school starts the day after labor day and our Utah family is already in school so we wouldn't have anyone to hang out with and its just too far to travel in one weekend.
Brandon decided it would help to keep my mind off it if I was too busy to think about it so we have spent the whole weekend building the deck. It is getting done slowly but surely. Oh yeah this is supposed to be my thankfuls so, thank goodness for Sunday so we can have a day of rest from working on the deck. Thank goodness it will be done soon so we can use our back door again.

Best view of all the work

Our garden is still growing and producing some yummy veggies. One of our squash vines grew about 20 feet long but was not producing any squash, to our surprise when we got home from our vacation it had a pumpkin about the size of a volleyball on the end. Now we will have to draw straws to see who will get it or if it will split into five nicely.heehee!

It rained today, the kind of rain I love that smells good and come down so hard you can hear it and it makes splashes when it hits. I miss thunderstorms like we had in Utah so it was nice to have one this afternoon, of course the kids had to run out and enjoy it too.

School starts on Tuesday. Oh wait, I am not thankful for that! Ok, I guess it will be nice to get back to some sort of routine at our house and the kids are excited to get back and see their friends. It will be nice for me to have a few hours each day to get caught up on things, and my house will stay clean for a minute while they are at school, yah!

Soccer has begun and my kids got on teams they were on in the spring. They have good coaches and good kids on their teams that they get along with well. Brandon is assisting Taysons coach this season, so Tayson is excited about his dad helping out.
Sonic opened this week. Happy hour here we come!

The deck is looking good. Hope you don't mind us peeking in on your life (I guess we can't get enough of your cute fam!). Love the black and white pic of Tayson with his crazy hair!
