Christmas elves

I have been thinging alot lately of how as a family we can make this Christmas a fun one that focuses of giving instead of getting. On Sunday I decided that our family needed to do some fun service for FHE the next day, so when we got home from church we made a plan and started baking. Baking is not my favorite thing to do and it's a good thing because I would probably wiegh 900 pounds, because eating things that are baked is one of my favorite things to do.

So on Sunday we baked 4 different kinds of treats and looked through the ward list to figure who would love to get some treats (and may not have the means of making them) we came up with 7 families. Monday night we bundled up with our goodies in hand and with Brandon driving our get away van we secretly delivered our goodies. The dog even got to go which was kind of a pain since every time the van door opened he thought he should be gettting out too.

It was great fun to try leave the treats while trying not to get caught and to run and hide and make sure they got their goodies. The kids enjoyed being elves and making some families smile. Brandon (our get away driver) tried to get some pics of us in the act but it was a little hard when trying to hide and get pictures at the same time. We did get a few before we left the house.

We are sooo blessed and I want to make sure my kids realize just how blessed our family is this season. I would love to take my family and let them to serve in a soup kitchen during Christmas so I am working on that one. I really want them to see that the season is not just about the presents, it about making a difference in someones life even if its just by giving a plate of cookies and making them smile. Its about honoring Jesus and doing the things that he would do.
