Standing for Something

This book has been on my mind as of late, as it is one of my favorite books. As many times I have read its chapters, I learn something new and get a new determination to live a better life. For those of you that are readers, this is a must have. It is almost like a reference book for life, since each chapter is about a virtue we should all strive for as a person and a country. Its content is very plain and simple by intertwining many stories of President Hinckley's life to put into context its messages and keeping your attention. I am grateful that he was able to put these thoughts together for us.

You can read about the book here:http://www.deseretbooks.com/store/reviews?sku=4139226

Well enough praising the book, I'm off to read it... chapter 9 tonight..."Optimisim"... Has anyone else read it and liked it?

I am SAD to say I haven't read it - - yet. We do have this book, and I plan on reading it this year!

I too LOVE this book. When I was a crossing guard and had tons of time I just sat there, I brought it with me, and ended up highlighting practically the entire book.

My mom is reading Glimpses, by Marjorie Hinkley, and says it is just full of wonderful insights to life as well, so it is next on my reading list.
